Yes, all iConnect Training Building Automation Systems (BAS) simulators come with a curriculum. They can be self-taught or instructor led just depending upon your program. These courses are ideal for learners who have little to no experience with BAS or Direct Digital Controls (DDC).
The PT-181 DDC Portable Training Unit is a portable simulator specifically designed for the DDC industry. It integrates the JS8000 that is used throughout the industry. This trainer features our unit-specific Intro to Niagara course that was written exclusively for use with the PT-181.
Taken either as a self-paced course or in addition to an instructor lead class, it provides users with a hands-on experience and introduces the basic concepts of BAS/DDC with a focus on HVAC controls. The included course for the PT-181 is approximately 18-24 study hours.
In addition to this course, we can further recommend a course selection from our partners at HVACRedu.net. As part of an expanded BAS program, training providers or individuals could choose to add another 93 credit hours of in-depth eLearning including:
- 154 Control System Types & BAS Basics
- 155 BAS Installation and Strategies
- 156 BAS System Management and Advanced Technologies
- 157 Troubleshooting DDC Systems & Components
- 159 IT for HVAC Techs
