Jason Obrzut and Carlos Urquidi Join North Park Innovation Group’s HVACR Technical Team
It is with great pleasure that we introduce the two newest members of the North Park Innovations Group’s Technical Team: Jason Obrzut and Carlos Urquidi.
Jason Obrzut is the Director of Education and lead instructor at the HVAC Technical Institute in Chicago, Illinois. In March of 2016, Jason took home the gold, finishing first in the first annual Teachers-N-Trainers (TNT) Contest at the HVAC Excellence Conference in Las Vegas, where hundreds of instructors from all over the country gathered to network and improve their craft.
Carlos Urquidi, a Professor at an HVAC program in California since 2008, has a Master of Science in Instructional Design and Technology from California State University and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from California State University. Carlos started his professional career as a Design Engineer, Professional Mechanical Engineer, and then moved to the college environment to fulfill his strong desire to train HVAC technicians.
The Technical Team reviews user input, recommends technical developments, and sets new product priorities. The team includes Eugene Silberstein. Eugene is the author or co-author of ten highly regarded HVAC text books, including Cengage Learning’s Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology. He also is serving as Director of Technical Education & Standards of The ESCO Group and will be presenting at the upcoming AHR Expo in Las Vegas on January 30, 2017. His session, geared toward contractors and technicians, will discuss the importance of the air side of HVAC systems. Topics covered include air properties, mixed air systems, airflow/capacity calculations, and an overall understanding of the psychrometric chart.
Also on the Technical Team is Carter Stanfield, whose family owns and operates Stanfield Air Systems in Athens, Georgia. Carter taught for almost 40 years at the Athens Technical College, he writes the blog hvacrfundamentals.blogspot.com, and is co-author of Fundamentals of HVACR, published by Pearson. He is active in HVACR education, teaching part time, writing, and speaking at educational conferences.
The Technical Team’s creativity, devotion and valuable insight will pave the way for new and exciting innovations for the future for North Park Innovations’ HVACR products, including the iManifold(R) platform and vocational training units.
